Who We Are

The National Foundation for Musical Theatre supports the development, production, and appreciation of musical theatre through investments in new works and the artists who create them.

 

We believe new musicals need time, resources, and opportunities to develop. Our investments provide artists with meaningful support as they write, explore, refine, and advance their work.

 

Each year, through the Peter J. Hengel Award for New Musical Theatre, we make a $25,000 investment in one new musical, giving its creative team flexible resources to support the next stage of its development.
