Jenny & June

Based on the true story of June and Jennifer Gibbons, the sisters who became known as the “Silent Twins,” Jenny & June tells the story of two young women whose extraordinary bond created a world almost entirely their own. Born in Wales to parents from Barbados, the sisters communicated freely with one another while remaining largely silent with the outside world. Within that silence, however, they became prolific writers and artists, creating stories, poems, novels, and elaborate imaginary worlds.

As the sisters grow into restless teenagers, their isolation and desire for independence lead them into increasingly destructive behavior, culminating in a series of crimes and their indefinite confinement at Broadmoor, a high-security psychiatric hospital. Years later, as freedom finally comes within reach, the sisters confront the bond that has both sustained and imprisoned them—and a mysterious pact that only one of them can ultimately survive.
